DAY 1: #FredBuschYogaChallenge
is #DownwardDog #AdhoMukhaSvanasana
In your first post, include:
1⃣ What brought you to yoga?
2⃣ How will teacher training change your life?
To come into #AdhoMukhaSvanasana
Bring your hands to the mat, shoulder width apart and fingers spread wide. Bring your pointer finger to face forward and allow the rest to the side. Lift your hips up and work your way to straightening the legs by bending alternating knees. Keep legs hips with apart. Rotate your shoulders away from your ears. Bring the belly in, looking towards the back of the mat and in between the feet. Rest your eyes, relax your face and breathe. DO THIS VARIATION with the knees bent if you have tight hamstrings or lower back pain.
Downward Facing Dog is one of the first poses we learn. It creates us the opportunity for so many benefits. We are inverted, lengthening our spine, lengthening our hamstrings, calves, opening up our shoulders, engaging our bellies. While we are strong, this is also considered a resting pose. To reconnect with our bodies and our breath.
Check our teacher accounts for variations.
