We need to begin addressing these fairly large situations regarding our planet. We need to invest heavily in production of Bambu for building materials and hemp for plastics, cloths, and oil. These two things alone would have a radical effect and would mitigate several problems.
Bambu, a fast growing renewable resource, can replace all wood in construction, reducing deforestation and wildlife habitat loss. Hemp is a fast growing weed, and as an industrial plant, one that was widely used during the early part of our nation, can almost single handedly take the burden of many products onto itself. These are very toxic oil based products that could be made much friendlier.
If we are serious about change we need our government to prioritize things that can become solutions over theoretical jargin. I will be emailing this to president Obama, why don't you do the same!
