New York Times today had an article saying holding doctors accountable for medical errors saying that as many as 98,000 people die every year just because they went into some hospital. So that mistakes made by doctors are killing 98,000 people every year and hospitals making hospitalization by itself is very risky enterprise. One of my favorite book is called Confessions of a Medical Heretic and in that book he explains that hospitals are like war zones and they are to be avoided at all cost. What today’s article speaks to is saying that instead of blaming the system, it’s time to make the doctors responsible for their own mistakes. It means that they have to get overburdened by insurance and legal claims and it doesn’t mean that they need to take responsibility for their own mistakes and be more aware and be less invasive and more preventive doctors who do realize that they are not healing people, that they are simply required to create the conditions for healing people and that the less medications, the less surgery and the less intrusiveness would be better. So that they stop making all these mistakes and killing innocent people who have no idea in what they’re getting into when they go into a hospital.

New Years Resolutions must start before New Year
As we are blessed to begin a new year, it is important to realize that some very small and simple changes in your life will have profound and dramatic effect on your health and wellbeing. Eat a little smarter, exercise a bit more often, and learn to become the master of your mind... and watch and see how fulfilling life can be. In fact fulfillment is seen to be your true nature.
Begin the new Year with a resolute determination to exercise very day. That will begin the powerful positive feedback cycle whereby you will get stronger every day and your Will-Power will naturally increase and express itself in more intelligent choices throughout your life.
Daily exercise is one of the most dramatic changes you can make in your life. In short, exercising strengthens your body, burns excess calories and promotes good circulation in all of its flowing systems. It’s the first and most important step to getting healthier and happier and it’s really not so hard to pick up.
Virtually any type of physical activity is good for your body so if you are exercising at all you are off to a great start. However, certain exercise practices are infinitely more beneficial than others. The best exercise, the exercise you should be doing daily requires the following:
It is vigorous (assuming it is safe and the right pace for you and your body). It is the sustained, vigorous workout that exercises the heart. And as it strengthens the heart, it sends blood through the filter organs more rapidly cleansing and detoxifying it. Sustained vigorous activity can unburden us of previously un-eliminated waste and toxins. Because poisons are almost fully responsible for disease, lack of energy, and degeneration, the multitude of benefits that accrue go far beyond keeping us fit.
It involves the entire body. Every part of your body needs daily exercise. Unlike your car and your shoes and a lot of other things in our lives, our body improves as we use it. When it is underused it actually deteriorates. Hips that are underused now become brittle later and break later. Muscles that rarely engaged become flaccid, skin sags and systems become blocked. So the exercise you are doing everyday needs to engage the entire body. Strong biceps are great, a strong heart and bones to go with them are even better.
Like I said, virtually any type of exercise - assuming it is safe – is good for you but the exercise practice to which you will be introduced over the next few pages is great for you. The Power Yoga sequence that I teach is one of the best ways to attain all the critical components of an exercise I just described. One more thing: it can lead to spiritual enlightenment. I’m serious. Yoga involves an intense mental/spiritual element that is accessible to everyone who practices regularly. You will begin to notice it yourself as you practice but I will address this further later.
Why do I say happier? Because if any of the functions of the internal organs like digestion or excretion are impaired, the brain will also be impaired. The brain is the organ of the mind. An impaired brain equals depression. There is an inseparable relationship between the mind and the body. If there is an imbalance in one, they will both suffer. This is why the value of exercise can never be overemphasized. Exercise can decrease nervous tension as it vitalizes the body, balancing the mind-body dynamic. Vigorous activity literally eliminates the internal conditions that give rise to qualms, worries and stress.
In order to feel physically well, emotionally balanced and spiritually aligned, we MUST exercise everyday. That is just how it is. No animals in nature take a day off of being themselves.
Vigorous activity strengthens the nerves and steadies them so you are less likely to feel edginess or nervousness. The body secretes noradrenaline and norepinephrin after sustained vigorous activity. This provides a perpetual feeling of well being.
Almost everything we make in life deteriorates with use. Edges dull; paint chips; motors fail. It is a paradox, but what nature makes, bodies are the opposite to a degree. With use, they improve. With exercise, they perform longer and better. This is because movement is essential to good health. Like all organisms, our bodies are made up of free flowing systems. Life is literally flowing through us. Movement is an underlying principle of our digestive, our reproductive, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. It is required, as that is the design.
In the digestive system, the blocking of the flow is called constipation. It is very common and very unhealthy to be blocked. We need to get moving and get everything moving.
It amazes me how often blockages in our flowing systems are overlooked or their effects are blamed on some other ‘problem. In our society, many of us are more vigilant when it comes to maintaining the free flowing system in our cars than the ones in our bodies despite the fact that most of us are more prone to constipation than to a clogged fuel line. A blockage in any of your bodily systems is a serious health emergency. Keeping our systems flowing freely is essential to good health and it can be achieved through regular, vigorous exercise.
When you exercise, you also build strength. A comprehensive exercise program strengthens the entire body and encourages the coordination of various muscle groups. Rarely do we depend on just one muscle group for anything. Strength is more appropriately determined by how well our muscle groups work together.
Although exercise does help us “look good” regular exercise promotes good health in a deeper way too. Like other muscles, the heart can be strengthened or weakened depending on the degree to which it is used. The more blood your heart pumps to the aorta, the stronger and more efficient it gets. Your bones are the same way. Many of us perceive our bones as inactive and lifeless, but our skeletal system is as alive as any other part of your body. Exercising it builds bone strength and density. Even the nerves are strengthened with exercise, becoming steadier.

A Good Transition Formula
In concrete terms we can consider three aspects in our lives and how this law is expressed. In terms of eating food, you can either be healing yourself or hurting yourself.
In terms of physical strength and exercises, you can either be getting weaker or getting stronger. And in terms of mentality, you can either be thinking positive thoughts, or negative destructive thoughts.
The reason why yoga is so important a part of this transition and lifestyle is that it assures the most efficient elimination of the poisons releasing into your bloodstream as the body ejects them in its re-assertion of it’s own domain which relied upon sufficient energy to enable.
So start doing a powerful Astanga or Power Yoga class 3 times a week. So matter what kind of diet you have now, you can start to do yoga 3 times a week. So the first month of a transition time might have no dietary implications at all and simply involves the physical practice of yoga. This will build initial strength and energy reserves, as you begin to sleep better.
The next month eliminate flesh foods and rejoice in that decision, it is not a deprivation but a gift to ourselves and the planet. Begin to eat as much fruit as you can and try to eat fruit when hungry instead of other “snacks”. Next month is time to eliminate dairy foods.
Always take it slow, it could be a year instead of a month, or it could be a week instead of a month, it is up to you and where you are at and thus what your needs are now.
Now begin to do some yoga 4-5 times a week and see if you can do it everyday.

Why Yoga is crucial in general
Everything is yoga really because everything in the universe is an expression of the divine and yoga is in all it’s manifestations the union with that divine presence. Really it is closer to the realization that we are already unified with the divine as the vision becomes clearer that you can not separate the created from the creator.
And so it is hear seen that Yoga is the practice of experiencing higher consciousness and health and this is practiced on many fronts, particularly in daily life. One of my favorites sayings during my yoga classes is “The yoga doesn’t really begin until you leave,” and it is precisely at this point in daily life that the practice of Presence and Being and living with compassion and love that is unconditional begins. And this is expressed in your relationship with every being in the world. Firstly with yourself in respect to living in harmony with your biology. This treats yourself with compassion and leads to the treating with compassion of all sentient beings as the use of animals as food has become unnecessary. As you live more compassionately with all beings you begin to pervade with peace and contentment and this allows for the treating of all people you meet and have relationship with, with a sense of love and respect and appreciation for life. It is life itself that is sacred. And that is preceisely the point to directing your attention inside the body because you bring your attention right to the core of the living being itself. This is one of the most spiritually powerful possibilities and is no wonder why it is said that, “The body is the Temple.”
Exercise insures a proper supply of blood to every part of the body, keeps the lymph flowing normally and maintains the overall health of the entire system.
Every cell of your body, heart, kidneys, liver, eyes, bones, brain, nervous system are activated and strengthened in there various functions in vigorous exercise like Astanga Yoga.. The bones of the skeletal system require exercise to maintain their size, strength, and physiological functions. If we do not do systematic and comprensive exercises like the sequence of Astanga, muscles begin to lose their tone and become flaccid. Nature takes away anything that is not used. And this holds true for the entire body. Exercise is essential to physical vigor, strength and vigor. Our true potential can only be realized when a powerful intellect is backed by a power physical body.

Hujambo Wazungu! (Swahili for Greetings!)
AND I JUST CONFIRMED MY OTHER GOOD FRIEND WILL ALSO BE GUIDING US! HIS NAME IS MARAKA EWOI, AND HE STILL STANDS FIRM IN MY MEMORY AS THE ONE OF THE GREATEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER KNOWN. He is a Turkana, which is a tribe of fierce warriors related to the Maasai. I am not kidding when i say that spending time with Maraka is worth the price of the trip alone! He is the kind of person that makes you a better person just because you know him. I have not seen him in 12 years and i am so EXCITED to see him again i am smiling as i write this!
That makes it 3 of my great friends that will be our drivers and guides.. Kwame, Mboya, and now MARAKA!
Having spend so much time in Kenya other parts of Africa... i can say that it is as incredible as you can possibly imagine. This is going to be a world class trip! I am very pleased to be one of the first international retreat leaders to offer a Yoga Safari Retreat. My two favorite things being combined... Yoga and Nature... Yoga and Wildlife Safari! I just think it is perfect... Apparently many people agree.
It will be from February 16th-25th, 2010. We have about 4 spots left more or less. So if you do want to go i don’t recommend waiting until the last minute.
In case you are wondering why the price is so inexpensive... it is because i used to live in Kenya and have many local connections so there will be no tourist pricing going on with me. It is impossible to travel in Africa on Safari for anything even resembling the price we have been able to offer.
I hope you jump on this chance soon! I will offer rudimentary Kiswahili classes for those interested as well. My Swahili is pretty good if i do say so myself!
Mungu akipenda nitakuongea huku! (God willing i will see you there!)
baraka mingi.. many blessings... (Barack Obama is named after the word for blessings in Swahili since he is of Kenyan descent!)
read below for the details:
Here is the rest of the details
$2495 Per Person for 10 Days all included! (4 Day SAFARI INCLUDED!/ Airfare Not Included/ Game park fees NOT INCLUDED)
$2200 Per Person for Couples or Friends sharing accomodations
To reserve your spot a $1000 deposit is required ($500 of which is Non-refundable).
Full payment is due by January 15th, 2010. Cancellations after January 15th receive 50% refund.
Africa is usually a very expensive place to travel, but this makes it possible because we have controlled the costs so well.
We would use the Shimei house as our "Home Base". Days 1-5 will be intensive Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation in the Mornings followed by Day Trips in the Afternoon to the many incredible local sites within driving distance. Day 5 we will embark on our 4 Day Safari to the Maasai Mara National Park, which borders the Tanzanian Serengetti Plains. After our Safari on Land Cruisers through the East African Plains we will regroup at the Shimei house for Yoga and Fun for the last day.
If you are interested in remaining as a guest at the Shimei house for another week that can be arranged also.
The owner of the house is my BEST friend from University of Michigan! His name is Kwame Nyongo, and his uncle is a member of Parliament in Kenya and very famous.
Kwame is an amazing friend of mine and will be our personal guide and host. Also driving for us and hosting us is another of my BEST friends from when i lived in Kenya, named Joseph Mboya. These are great friends of mine and you will learn so much about Kenya and living as a local there. It is an incredible opportunity.
We are including the safari in the price of this trip! We are doing this because Kwame is well connected and we are able to offer the safari without overcharging you for it!
Only ten people can come.

Greetings from Fred in Tuscany!
I thought i knew how nice the property would be...
I was sure i would like it here from the pictures i had seen..
The fact is though, that this place is so much beyond my expectations that i am forced to share with you in hopes that perhaps next year you will be lucky enough to join me.
As we left Florence airport on the 1 hour drive to the Borgo (farmhouse) it was instantly obvious why Tuscany state is so famous. Rolling hills and fall colors of the forests make for a very different feel from Miami. We passed through the countryside just amazed at how beautiful the surroundings were. After passing through the village of Bucine and crossing over a 2000 year old Roman Bridge we found the dirt road that leads to the property Borgo Ieosalana.
This much i can tell you: It can NOT BE NICER. It is so nice here that i almost lost my breath. I am still shocked as i walk along this huge property which is surrounded by forest and grapevines and olive trees.
The accommodations are the best i have ever experienced... and i am well traveled. Huge villas with living rooms, big bedrooms, and the nicest bathrooms and showers (i have rarely seen higher end details). It is such a pleasure to come to my room in between the yoga and hiking and wine tasting. I literally feel like a king around here. Everything is so incredibly nice! It is like a 5 Star property that is authentic Tuscan style in every way from the tiles, to the 800 year old foundations of the perfectly renovated structures.
And the FOOD! My gosh the Tuscans know how to live! They eat only fresh grown food with lots of vegetables and rely upon their newly pressed olive oils to create food that is so wholesome and delicious. And being vegetarian here is so easy too! The meals are like occasions each time and gives us the old world experience of eating together not in a hurry as the multiple courses of food present themselves.
And the WINE! I am not a big wine drinker normally but being in Tuscany i decided to see what it was all about. I learned a lot already about Italian wine and how italy’s original name in greek was “land of vines” and that the Etruscan people who were here before the Romans had been making wine here for over 5000 years! so cool! And the wine IS GOOD! Grapes for wine are indigenous to Italy so no wonder!
And the Yoga Room! Wood floors with huge window overlooking the Tuscan Valley.
This room could not be better! Today i taught a Power Yoga Workshop to a group from Florence mixed into the Miami group. They were enthusiastic and wondering when i would be back. It is such a blessing to share the multi-dimensional benefits of Power Yoga.
And the Hiking! The rolling hills and fall foliage make hiking around here a truly meditative and blissful experience. The fresh air and long gentle trails remind me why hiking, after yoga, is my favorite way to be in my body! I love hiking and connecting to nature and i am so pleasantly surprised to see how many forests surround the farms making for hiking trails that pass though vineyards, olive trees and forest paths ... it is so nice go outside hike!
The service here is great. The owners of the property, Francesco and Gianni have been incredible hosts and so interested in making sure everything is Perfect... which around here is not hard! This place is AWESOME.
I have decided to share my experiences with you in hopes that for next year...with some advanced planning.. you can join me here in this paradise called Tuscany. Many say that only the summer is the season, but i disagree. Fall is incredible here. Not so many tourists-- we have this whole place to ourselves... and the air is fresh and cool in the evening... a welcome respite from Miami’s tropical heat.
God willing around November of 2010 we can recreate this trip! It is so much nicer than i imagined and i am sure without doubt that this trip will be one of the greatest of your life. It already is for me!
I will be back in Miami in just one week!!! Please continue to support the studios in my absence! It is very important for the Shala and more importantly, for YOU.
Blessings!

The Sadhana of Positive Attitude and Non-Resistance to the Present
Core Analogy:
Consider a song which is playing on the radio as you walk in a room and you find rough and a little grating. Since the song is initially disliked you begin to resist it and wish that it would end. This resistance to the song is expressed in a resistance pattern or tension in the body as well.
But then all the sudden you realize that the voice of the singer sounds a bit familiar and then you recognize it to be your favorite artist. In fact you were listening to a brand new song by your favorite singer. Instantly upon this realization your disposition toward the song changes. You soon feel yourself accepting the music deep into your body and listening/receiving the song with gratitude. Soon you are gently swaying to the music and happy to be listening to the song which is by now recognized to be quite good.
This analogy is helpful on many fronts in understanding how a positive attitude can create your reality as you go through your life one present moment at a time.
First of all the “song” can be any “person in your life” whom you initially resist because perhaps that person has a negative energetic pattern and you are initially repulsed. But then as you look a little closer at the person there seems to be something that you recognize not as being deserved of scorn, but rather of love. And with an open heart and love in your eyes you enter the field of that person and instantly they are transformed to lovable and beautiful spiritual beings on the path to self-improvement and doing their best.
This is how a positive attitude operates to form an enlightened energy field.

The Role of Exercise
There are all sorts of exercises out there, you can do whichever ones you want, but the best ones are the ones that are daily, are systematic, and are as vigorous as you feel is appropriate for you and then always moving up. Starting slow and always moving up, from where ever you start, it does NOT matter. I am a yoga teacher so I say do yoga.
Because this style of yoga is cardio-vascular, it is opening up the muscles, it is benefiting the endocrine systems, it does everything. If you have other exercise fine, just make sure that they are not hurting you. If you are running, make sure that your knees are not going bad. If you are lifting weights, make sure that you don’t have shoulder injuries. Make sure that whatever you are doing that is in the effort of benefiting you is really benefiting you.
So vigorous exercise! Do something everyday. Vigorous walking do it, if it is Yoga do it, what ever you are going to do do it. Just do something! Otherwise you can eat well all you want but it isn’t the whole story, it isn’t the whole picture. You got to move your body.

About me
I began as a Power Yoga Teacher after years of teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. I started studying Yoga and Enlightenment when i was 15, and started practicing Ashtanga Yoga when i was 23. I began to evolve my classes away from the traditional Ashtanga System and it then became Power Yoga. Power Yoga is most complete system to address the multi-dimensional aspects of a person. Physical, Mental, Spiritial... power yoga has roots in the Ancient teachings while addressing the modern day human.
Which kind of people do you address your lessons?
All kinds! I love having different kinds of people in the same classes. I love giving variations for more advanced students to express themselves while encouraging beginners to take their time and to work on their core to develop the ability to do some of the more demanding poses over time. My students are very diverse and i love working with individuals to help them realize what they need most and then suggesting the specific means to realize it.
How do you organize your lesson?
Breathing Exercises
Meditation
Warm Ups and Salutations
Standing Poses
Different Sequences Here
Closing Inversions and Back Bends
Savasana
Meditation
Which is the difference in comparison with ashtanga yoga or vinyasa yoga?
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is usually referred to as 'Ashtanga Yoga' but it is not quite accurate. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is different than Ashtanga Yoga. Ashtanga means 8 limbs and relates to the 8 Limbs of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Many masters, including myself, consider that what they teach is Ashtanga Yoga because we teach the 8 limbs in our system.
Either way, Ashtanga Vinyasa was developed by Sri K. Pattabi Jois and has him as the guru (he just passed from his body, I am sure you know). Ashtanga has sequences that never vary. Power Yoga is more flexible and can allow some creativity and exploration.
Do power yoga is grounded on?
Eight Limbs of Patanjali, Advaita Vedanta, Natural Living, Sacred Awareness, Gratitude
Do you have any suggestions for a beginner?

Fred
I eat only 100% Raw food, I practice Yoga asana vigorously everyday.
I am experiencing the benefits of great physical strength, mental agility and connectedness to the universe. One cell at a time, one day at a time I am getting healthier and more full of love.
I am also just like any other person. I grew up on the pizza, burgers and pasta diet for the first 18 years of my life. I am not here to hold high moral ground. I am certainly not here to judge. I am here however to enlighten you to the possibility that there is a more fulfilling life to be led when you can align yourself to the laws of Nature by eating a natural diet and vigorously exercising.
I smoked cigarettes for 5 years, ate meat everyday and never ate salad or fruit until my twenties. Yet I was always attracted to nature and the natural world. My inclination to all things natural and wild led me to study Environmental Policy in university. I know from my own example that no matter how divorced we become from Nature in our lifestyle, the call to Nature endures. And so with that vision I see in everybody around me the pure and vast potential of Nature.
It is said that a gorilla can bench press 4000 lbs. The domestication of the wild human begins at the first bite full of cooked food.
While laying in bed for weeks with terrible headaches I had visions of myself exercising and sweating and EXPRESSING the gift of the human body and I saw the value of health above all. I was treated in Africa but decided that rather than go to India as I had intended, I had better return home and heal and hopefully return to full health.
Perhaps you are lucky enough to not have had to realize first hand that health is the most important thing in the entire world. If you already know about the value of health then you will begin to tear through these pages in earnest. If not, then let me simply tell you that no matter what else you can imagine, if you are not healthy, you have nothing.

Overview of the Spinal Cord
The analogy is that you take an electrical machine and it has to be transformed, it has to be able to be received. So the first way of looking at this is that the energy has to be reduced to that you can use it because in the form that it is, it’s like trying to use a bolt of lightning, it’s way to powerful. That’s a very good analogy, the bolt of lightning, because that’s a natural, tight cosmic force. When we speak of cosmic force, it’s being other worldly powerful, that’s what we need. A bolt of lightning it is said if you could harness it and store it, which you can’t do, one bolt could power a city. This is the analogy of energy as it is in the universe being too big for our little bodies and our little nervous systems to handle because our nervous system is an electrical—electromagnetic system, meaning it’s like wiring a building. Your nerves conduct electricity, that’s what they do and your body’s controlling itself, one of the ways is electromagnetism, in other words, through electricity.

Exercise and food
Now people who have one side of that mastered and not the other will always find a problem. People that are all into raw food look like the biggest group of weirdo’s you’ve ever seen. They don’t exercise, they don’t look healthy, the reason they’re not necessarily exercising right, and that’s the reason that they wouldn’t look healthy. If they did, they would look healthier than anybody. It’s a whole bunch of eat real and well but don’t know anything about yoga and exercise and they just eat well and good but they don’t exercise and it shows, because you can’t be healthy and not exercise. They’re the end of the spectrum or all the athletes out there who are going physical specimens but eat like shit and then they are also on the road to disaster. When they put the both of them together you have an environment of transformation, no potential that is profound, that’s what the program is.
giving it the opportunity to let your body be in this place that it loves to be which is exercising everyday and eating perfectly and resting a lot and all that stuff that it likes to do when its doing what it wants to do.

Sadhana
And it has been the Sadhana aspect of my practice that is the most important. When it is a spiritual practice, it just feels different than a regular “workout”. It may be possible to skip a “workout” pretty easily but less likely to try to fool the divine universal
Any body can have a Sadhana. What I hope to inspire is that the Sadhana of eating Raw Food and doing vigorous Yoga practice is the most powerful for healing and restoring.
Sadhana does not have to start out as 100% Raw and practicing yoga 2 hours everyday immediately. Actually it is started quite humbly. Just start by eating one banana a day more than you would have eaten, and start with one sun salutation everyday. This Sadhana would take about 1 minute and a half. Yet it is just as spiritually powerful as any other. Then the next week two extra bananas and two sun salutations. In a few months, taking it very slowly, you can evolve your Sadhana so that you only eat fruit before noon and you do 30 minutes of Yoga daily. This is powerful stuff. All you have to do is start.
To consider your daily actions to be spiritual acts delivers great strength. Sadhana is a personal practice or discipline done without attachment to the fruits of the actions.
Sadhana is the vehicle. You do it everyday!
Sadhana is a Sankrit word for “Daily Spiritual Discipline or Practice,” and is the foundation to the practice of Yoga. All great people have great Sadhanas.
Deepok Chopra, one of the most respected healers in the world, begins each day at 4am with Sitting Meditation and Yoga until 6am and then he writes for 2 hours all the material for his many books, and then does some exercise, ALL BEFORE 9AM. And so he says that he has taken care of his entire being, Mind, Body, Spirit and Livelihood, all before 9am so that everything that happens in the rest of the day is just extra. This is one of the most powerful Sadhanas that I have ever heard of and it is not surprising that it comes from such a successful person.
Not most days, everyday! There are no “I don’t feel like it todays”! It is not a question of “if?” you are gonna practice that day, but rather “when?”.

Water and Salt
Water is unbelievably mystical, remember, water is the reason why life can be. Almost equally as mystical is salt, they’re both crystals. Water is fluid crystalline structure, salt is not. Water is bound chemically, meaning through chemistry, and everything on the planet is bound chemically, meaning through chemistry, whether its in a living form; biochemistry, meaning it’s all connected through living chemical reactions and molecular structures, or inorganic chemistry, meaning rocks and things that are just out in the woods, connected through something’s that’s not alive anymore but it’s still chemistry, it’s still chemical bond. Salt is bound electrically, it’s a whole different thing. Some other crystals, like crystal might also be bound electrically as well, salt is bound electrically.

SEEING INTELLIGENCE AS AN ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE
This intelligent system is responsible for the developing of the embryo to the human child.
Operating through your brain and your nervous system, an intelligence behind consciousness is directing the millions of actions that were responsible for your development from a fetus until now. It was the mothers brain which controlled the development until a certain point when the universal intelligence began to move through the brain and nervous system of the baby. The brain and nervous system as expressions of the deeper intelligence of consciousness control all growth and healing. Healing is just the same as the original growth.

Music
What makes music is the space between the notes. It is the preciseness and the precision and the empty space between the notes that creates the rhythm of it because if there wasn’t the empty space precise then it would be a cacophony, it would be not music, and it would be noise.
The space between the sentences, between the words bring a relaxing energy and that they are specific, there’s always different spaces because we're completely conscious of the space.
If you’re going to teach, with a little bit of attention, you more than you. Employ it to the degree you want, you had employ immediately. Being in your presence needs to be relaxing that will have to be transmitted at all times. In every word that you say, in every sentence that you speak you have to visualize centeredness, you have to exist from there.

Western paradigm says that if I can’t see it then it’s not real, I cannot experiment with it and find it and dissect it and its obviously not real. That’s where they’re disconnected, now there are many medical doctors who are enlightened and intuitive and they’re putting all of it together and that’s great, but the main limitation behind medical paradigm is that need for it to be dissected in a laboratory and verified in order for it to become real in their view of things and as I’ve explained with a cell phone, you don’t see the waves leaving the cell phone and traveling to Europe and coming back, even yet that’s pretty real stuff.
So why did you need to see the evidence, when you’re dealing with energy, you’re never going to see the evidence.

Transition

Raw, Yoga, Sadhana

Yoga, the Presence and Being
Everything is yoga really because everything in the universe is an expression of the divine and yoga is in all it’s manifestations the union with that divine presence.

Nature and the Divine
I actually see the words Nature and Spirituality as the same. To me, God and Nature are interchangeable words. In this case, the God of the Eagle becomes “God as the Eagle” or “God as the Trees.” In this way, Nature is the expression of divine presence on the planet. It is an understanding that all living beings are expressions of the divine.

Blood flow and Flow in General
Many words have just been used to describe a way of visualizing the energetic flow. But we must for at least a moment try to move beyond words to a space free of thought forms. Once there visualize and equate all the different ways energy flows in relationship on the planet. It is always the same characteristic. Health comes in any relationship where the energy freely flows. You can verify for yourself. Once you can see the oneness of all energetic behavior you can consider the nature of stagnation on energetic systems. Stagnation is the result of blocks in the energetic system. Stagnation leads to disease.
The arteries leave your heart and travel away into the vessels of your bodies and then become the capillaries which are only one cell wide and then the capillaries turn into the veins which return the blood to the lungs and heart, and all this is a closed energetic system. Just like any other.
What is important to do is to consider this model of energy flow in your understandings of human health and society. People need to get moving and get their blood flowing and clear their systems of stagnation. All disease begins with stagnation probably form toxic sources of food.
And as always it all comes to blood flow. The muscles and glands and organs all are kept in a healthy state proper blood flow. Energy flow.

Only the present exists
Only the next step matters, there is so much wasted energy looking at the “ultimate goal” which from the place that the person is standing seems unreachable, totally unreachable, because it is so far away, and that leads to frustration and a negative attitude, to a sense of inevitable failure because it is as if it is just too far away of a place. So that is a huge energy drain that happens when you look exclusively to the final goal as a means to gauge progress.
But what is actually the case is that where you really want to go is the closest place to where you are right now that leads you in the direction of where you are going, because the closest place to where you are right now is the place where you are actually gonna go, the next step is the closest place. It is good to see that as a vision, not a concept.
See yourself on a long long journey with an extremely far off goal and many visible obstacles in your way. Now visualize that no matter how far off that goal is, it is only completely dependent on the very next step that you take because if you trip and fall now, you will have to spend energy getting up and that may impede your chances of arrival.

Yoga and consciousness
As yoga is primarily concerned with the lifting of consciousness in ones daily life, the selection of Raw food for each meal becomes an expression of the highest level of consciousness. And as yoga is in the union of that which is seemingly dual, the awareness of the fact that “we are what we eat” is a Yoga practice in and of itself. Many people new to Yoga consider that it is basically a physical practice. These people have gone to yoga classes and experienced the Asana limb of yoga. The Asana limb of the great Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, one of the sacred yoga texts, involves physical postures and strengthening of the body. As we know this is essential to maintain health in the body, but for our purpose here we will make clearly state that this is not the main goal of yoga, which is enlightenment, or union with the divine. It is no coincidence then to find that union with the divine comes in hand with maintaining a healthy body, a healthy temple.

My Birthday is Today!
Fred's Story!
Hospitals add certain poignancy to your day-to-day thoughts and one afternoon in the Dar es Salaam Public Clinic, I decided, ‘If I ever get out of this (or whatever this is gets out of me) I’m going to cherish my body. I’ll never smoke again; I’ll exercise every day; I’m going to be as healthy as possible.
Whatever was in me did finally get vanquished and when I returned to life in South Beach, I started it fresh. I started doing Yoga several days a week and made some changes to my diet: no more fast food or red meat or junk food. A few weeks into my new routine, I noticed a difference in the way that I felt physically and emotionally.
At the beginning, Yoga was a struggle. I was far from flexible and most of the poses seemed very foreign to me. I stuck with it though and started to become comfortable with a particular Yoga series that moves you from one pose to the next in a way that sustains a high heart rate while working every part of the body. As I became more flexible and familiar with the poses I was able to do them deeper and hold them longer. The practice actually got more challenging as I improved. I would feel so worked, so pleasantly exhausted I rarely felt the need for other types of exercise. I upped my practice to six days a week and felt so great I would just as soon stick myself in the eye as eat junky food. I started to become very aware of what foods made me feel good and what foods made me feel bad and what foods made me feel horrible.
A friend of mine told me about a lecture by Dr. Douglas Graham about a Raw Food Diet. So, no cooked food. I assure you that I was at least as skeptical of the idea as you are now. Despite my doubts, I sat and listened to the lecture with an open mind and really it made a lot of sense. The premise is simple:,when you heat something, chemical bonds are broken, molecular changes occur, things are released and destroyed. It is the same when you cook your food. In its natural state, food has more nutrients, more complete protein structures, more enzymes. When it is cooked, a lot of what you need is destroyed and you ar left with something far less nutritious and in a lot of cases detrimental to your body.
So I tried it. I wasn’t able to go all raw immediately, but I began to limit the amount of cooked food I ate and replace it with raw nuts and fruits, especially avocados. A few weeks into the routine and I was shocked at how great I felt. It was unbelievable. My entire disposition changed. Meanwhile, my Yoga practice exploded. I was doing the poses that seemed impossible just weeks ago. I began to realize a whole realm of mental benefits to a deep regular practice that rivaled the physical benefits I had already been enjoying.
Soon I didn’t even recognize cooked food as edible. It seemed so crazy to me to eat something with all of the nutrients cooked out of it. Eating an animal seemed absolutely outrageous.
Raw food and Yoga transformed me. I noticed a completely different person waking up every morning. A person who was for the first time, truly healthy: positive, energetic and absolutely delighted with life. That’s the way I woke up this morning.
Read my book. Whether or not you stop eating cooked food or start doing Yoga every day, I am sure it will – in some way improve your life. Enjoy the pages that follow. Adopt the practices in this book at a pace that feels right to you and see how you feel. And it is never too late, regardless of your age and current physical conditioning, because practicing what you will learn in this book is certain to make a difference in your life.
